Cresswell ’98 U14’s were crowned Norfolk Cup winners, the competition was run by Sports Tours and attracted teams from all around the UK. ’98 played seven, eleven a side games over two days winning six and drawing one in the group stages, they eventually beat Ashford Town of Surrey in a great final. Ashford Town had not conceded a goal all tournament winning their respective league comprehensively, after a stalemate 0-0 at full-time. In extra time Lewis Bull stormed ’98 into a 1-0 lead, then Matt O’ Farrell sealed the victory with a glancing header in the dying seconds to win 2-0. ’98 were presented as champions of Norfolk by ex Arsenal and England defender Nigel Winterburn.
